workshops, Otis 06 2008, assignment

darkmark

Making type with areas that are not or are only partially irradiated or illuminated because of the interception of radiation by an opaque object between the area and the source of radiation. You got it? This workshop is about shadow-type.
Type made out of shadows.
Shadows becoming type.

This workshop wants to explore the potential of the dark site of things. It is a quest about the relation of object and image, 3D and 2D, static and fluxus & reality and its projection.

So probably you knew about the fact that dealing with type is dealing with black and white forms. But digging for the essence will show us that at the end it is all about light and darkness. Elementary particles. Photons.

Some thoughts and ideas:
What can be the relation between object and shadow?
What can be the relation between shadow and time?
What can be the relation between shadow and surface?
What can be the relation between shadow and shadow?
