Boring bitmaps for hardcore type nerds. Choose you platform: whether it is mobile phone screen or scrolling message boards, find a best legible forms for this particular platform. Study all the aspects of legibility: curves, x-height, spacing and so on.

Next, companies such as Xerox are already showing experimental flat screens with 300 dots per inch--the same as a laser printer. When that happens, choosing type for the screen will be little different than choosing it for paper.
Choose the medium, which screen?
Find the best solution for this medium.
Develop a whole pixel font for it.
Present it how it will be used in the end.
